New Method Restoration was called out to a toilet overflow from a first floor bathroom which affected the ceiling of a finished basement below.
Project manager Kevin Manfro arrived onsite within 90 minutes to assess the damages that occurred as a result of the overflow. A thorough inspection of the affected areas was done which included detailed notes, measurements, and photos. Once Kevin concluded his inspection he presented all information to the homeowner along with a recommended scope of work to be done.
Our trained professionals were dispatched and began work by moving any personal belongings from the areas that had been affected, making sure they were property protected from any damages. The metal ceiling in the basement was removed as well as laminate flooring that had gotten wet. Once the damaged materials were removed and disposed of, the areas were steam cleaned and sanitized using an organic antimicrobial spray to prevent any mold growth. Several dehumidifiers, fans, and other specialty drying equipment was placed in the space to ensure proper drying took place as quickly as possible.
